ABSTRACT

This report is based on a representative sample of 2,000 US consumers.
It covers why it is relevant for corporations and companies to engage in civil enagagment now, how they are preforming in meeting these expectations, including the proprietary CCE scorecard rankings, and how consumers are responding to met or unmet expectations. Companies from a variety of industries are covered, for example, retail sector, high tech, banking and home energy.

Companies should care about the perceptions of their civic engagment as it is a leading indicator of competitiveness in today’s marketplace.

This is because regardless of what you produce, customers are increasingly expecting the companies they do business with to step up to the plate and be better corporate citizens, proactively driving social good in a whole host of spheres including controversial health and social justice issues. It is important that companies truly understand the new expectations of their customers and how to authentically respond to them if they want to continue to be or to become thriving first class brands. CCE is an important tool that gives you a baseline for what is expected from whom and how best to respond.
